About us

We love the outdoors. We love the wild, the wilderness, the weather; the beauty of nature. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have the freedom to just fall asleep next to any slice of natural beauty of your choice (where legally possible) without the faff of assembling tents in all weathers, and without the expense and size of a campervan? Yeah, we thought so too, and that’s the seedling that the Camper Car Bed idea grew from.

We made it our mission to create a low-cost design with maximum flexibility that can extend into a comfortable full length bed, as well as fit neatly into the boot when using the back seats, and pack away for home storage to get the boot space back for when you’re not exploring.

It’s time to share the joy of simply rocking up to your camp spot with your bed ready, without any precious time wasted.

Materials & spec

The structure of the Camper Car Bed is made from ethically sourced high quality 18mm plywood. The white melamine top sheet neatly covers the inner structure and provides wipeable protection via the melamine surface, as well as an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The Camper Car Bed is tested to withstand 2 people of total max weight 170kg.

Our car beds have been extensively tested, including a country-wide road trip around Scotland, a 7000 km drive from the UK to Gambia in Africa across the Western Sahara Desert, and a mammoth drive across the entire width of Australia.

As Design Engineers, we love the satisfaction of creating a great product that people love. 

Our team has decades of design and mechanical engineering experience working in research & development at well known consumer electronics and industrial engineering companies. With the expertise of our team, we designed, built and tested many iterations of the Camper Car Bed to optimize the functionality, user experience, reliability and aesthetics, and we are proud of the result!
